"Legal Design Lab in an Afternoon" with Dan Ryan, Professor, University of Toronto Faculty of Information

Summary

The Legal Design Lab in an Afternoon, led by Dan Ryan of the University of Toronto Faculty of Information (iSchool), is a single day workshop based on highly-successful Legal Design Lab courses taught around the world.

This Legal Design Lab will operate as a workshop/incubator in which law students generate legal innovations that address a problem worth solving, such as building a regulatory regime that can better handle digital business or providing better platforms for consumers to interact with the legal profession. Students will learn to use and implement the tools of human-centered design to bring fresh thinking to the challenges we face in our legal systems. This is a hands-on workshop where students will have an opportunity to interact with each other and work together to bring their ideas to life.

Due to the nature of this event, there will be limited spots available. We encourage all students to sign up, but please note that some preference may be given to graduating students who will not otherwise have the opportunity to participate in future Legal Design Lab events.

Please note we will need students to commit to the full timeframe of the session.
