Dive into the world of capital raises and lead a company through the strategic advisory process that ends in an Initial Public Offering
Wall Street bets, NFT's, cryptocurrency, and Fintech are all well-hyped subjects that have helped bring Finance into the public conscience. There is no doubt that Finance is mainstream, and the current trend has led to modernized securities for a rabid retail audience. Shareholders and customers seek new ways of interacting with their favourite brands, and the savviest companies are finding unique to tailor their capital raises to match this demand. This case simulation session will put students in the driver's seat of an Initial Public Offering, as they advise a company on the offering and explore the innovative new methods for raising capital.
The Future of Law Lab Case Simulation sessions allow students to tackle a variety of real world problems dealing with law, business strategy, technology, public relations, marketing, and policy. Each simulation is structured as a holistic experience that investigates how legal problems affect the entirety of business operations. Whether you intend to work at a firm, in-house, government, or providing legal advice in any capacity, this is a fantastic opportunity to build your substantive skillset.
The Crowdfunding and IPO Case Simulation is a three-hour session where you will have the opportunity to discover exciting new capital offering strategies and apply them to a fictional organization. You will be the legal team guiding the decision-making process as the company prepares for its IPO, taking into the account the legal, business, and regulatory impacts of your strategy. Mat Goldstein, Co-Founder and CSO of Dealmaker, will facilitate the session and support you as your team engages with the scenario.
